The FOMPIP is continuing to work with the DPW to coordinate the planning, fundraising and repair/construction of the tennis courts at Memorial Park.
Because of the rise in materials and labor costs, the total cost for this project has risen from the 2021 estimate of $132,000.00 to $168,000.00.
The CPC has approved funding for the project of $49,999.00 to date, we have raised $58,762.91 but we are presently looking for approx.$59,238.09 to complete the fundraising and hopefully start the build in Spring of 2024.

The Friends of Memorial Park Improvement Project, Inc. (FOMPIP), a non-profit organization, was established by several Essex and Manchester Massachusetts residents, in August of 2018 with a common goal of making Memorial Park's adult baseball facility and its adjacent War Memorial, improved and updated for all to enjoy for generations to come. We work under the supervision and control of the Essex DPW and in tandem with the the Veteran's Subcommittee.

We have completed the project and have elevated the ball park and the historic memorial to the level they deserve, so they can proudly be used by the entire town of Essex, Manchester Essex Regional High School Sports, Manchester Essex Little League Junior's Level, Manchester Essex Mariners Men's Baseball and the community at large for special events and ceremonies.
